PERTH, WA (10 February 2021) – Longreach Mineral Exploration (Longreach), a successful recipient of the Queensland Government Collaborative Exploration Initiative (CEI) grant, is pleased to announce the completion of a 387km2 airborne magnetic and radiometric geophysical survey.
8,770km of high resolution airborne geophysical data was acquired at 50m line spacing over Longreach’s permit (EPM27423), located approximately 40km northeast Clermont, Queensland.
Advanced processing of magnetic data and radiometric data will highlight geological features from surface through to depth. A solid geology map will be produced during the interpretation of the new airborne geophysical data; this 2D map will then be incorporated to develop 3D geological model. The outcome of this work will enable specific and effective targeting for focused geochemical sampling and future drilling.
The acquired data is now being processed and interpreted prior to advanced 3D modelling and interpretation by Kenex, one of the leading experts in geological modelling.
Jan Ostby, Director of Longreach, said, “This new airborne geophysical data set will add significantly to the understanding of the mineralisation model, generate specific exploration targets, reduce risk in ongoing exploration and accelerate the on-ground exploration”.
Searcher Seismic Pty Ltd was appointed by Longreach to assist with the project management. The airborne data acquisition was undertaken by MAGSPEC Airborne Surveys Pty Ltd.
